School photography that reflects a child’s true personality
Modern, elevated school portraits captured through a refined artistic lens by moms who understand that every child’s personality is uniquely their own.
Meet Emily
As a Maplewood resident for nearly 12 years, I feel so fortunate to live, work and raise my two daughters in such a diverse and creative community.
Photography grew from both my love of art and my background in education. I earned an MA in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and taught art and photography for eight years in Basking Ridge, NJ and NYC. That experience shaped the way I see children…with patience, curiosity and an appreciation for their individuality.
After having my daughters, I wanted the freedom to pursue what I love, and Emily Feinsod Photography was born. For over a decade, I’ve photographed maternity, newborn and family clients throughout SOMA and the surrounding towns, building lasting relationships within the community.
Boutique school portraits became a natural extension of my work during COVID, when families and schools were looking for a more personal approach. I set up a studio in my garage and invited neighborhood kids over…and the rest is history. Today, I aim to create school portraits that feel timeless, artful and true to each child.
Meet Lisa
As a Maplewood resident for over a decade, I feel incredibly grateful to live, work, and raise my two sons in such a creative and connected community.
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember…my dad built a darkroom in our basement and I grew up fascinated seeing the images coming to life. In high school, I collected fashion magazines and styled my friends for portrait sessions. That creative curiosity followed me to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where I studied film and photography.
Lisa White Photo was born after my sons arrived, when I wanted meaningful creative work that allowed me to be present for my family. Over the past 10+ years, I’ve photographed hundreds of families and built long-standing relationships throughout our community. My work has included collaborations with local art studios, florists and small businesses, as well as portraits for children, families and professionals.
Boutique school photography felt like a natural extension of my work…combining my love of children, community and authentic portraiture. My goal is to create images that showcase each child’s unique self.
